It Must Be My Eye Makeup

Published by Grace | Filed under Arbonne, Stuff

If your eyelashes are falling out or breaking, pay close attention to your eye makeup. If you’re then also using an eyelash curler, you’re really giving your lashes trouble. The ingredients in most mascaras, eyeliners and eyeshadows are harmful to your lashes and can inhibit growth.

To prevent this from happening, make sure you take off your eye makeup before going to bed. Leaving mascara and eyeliner on for an extended period of time gives those chemicals more time to seep into your skin, and causing damage to your lash hair follicles. I love Arbonne’s Eye Makeup Remover for helping to take off mascara, but their face washes seem to take off all my makeup pretty well. One thing’s for sure, DO NOT use baby oil to take off your eye makeup! Baby Oil contains mineral oil, which acts as a protective barrier. Although mineral oil can be great for other uses, it can prevent your skin from breathing and may cause your skin to break out when it’s in your cosmetics.

For damage control, I’ve been using Arbonne’s Lash Enhancer to help grow back my lashes. For a while, I was still using mascaras from other brands, so didn’t notice the change too much, and still had an issue with breakage. Using their mascara has put a stop to breakage and my lashes no longer fall out. I’m also transitioning all of my eye makeup over to Arbonne products, yes I know I should just throw out all my old stuff, but I’m not a wasteful person. At least by incorporating them bit by bit, I’m saving money and although Arbonne is a little pricier, it lasts long and is worth it in the long run to save my skin and lashes. I’ve actually also noticed that my eyes aren’t as red at the end of the day. It must be my eye makeup :)

Read up on eyelash breakage, and then give Arbonne’s cosmetics a try to see how your lashes change.
