Yep, I’ve begun tackling resolution #4, learning Tagalog. With my husband. We purchased Rosetta Stone over the weekend and started learning on Monday, and wow it’s tough. I’m probably learning it faster than my husband because I can understand some of the words, I just don’t know how to put them together. The words seem to be much longer, and the syntax is completely different. For example, to say “The woman is driving a car”, you would say “Nagmamaneho ng kotse ang babae”, and if you translated word by word in that order it would be something like “driving a car the woman”. Husband and I need to start speaking what we can around the house, the big “ta-da” for us will be surprising my parents in conversation. I don’t think we’ve learned enough to slip something in, but we’re getting there.

As for lifting more weights, I took a 24LIFT class last night, and can feel the soreness sneaking in. Tonight’s plan is a 1 hour Turbo Kick Box class, gotta get that cardio in!

And my blog, it’s coming along. I’m launching a site this week that I did with Accent on Design for a local company called Pacific Drain. It’s not much, just a WordPress site using a purchased theme and customized to client’s needs. I’ll post it once it’s live. I’m also in the process of helping Aviatech re-do their site. All the designers came up with a comp, and although mine wasn’t the big winner, we’ll be taking some of the social media focus mine had and integrating it into the look and feel of the “chosen” one. What a surprise, right? I’m sure it’s every designer’s daily battle, but such is life.
